What a pile of hair! My Cody yields a like amount of black fur, and I won't even talk about cat hair. Good Maen, everyone. This is a surprising way to start the day.

Luckily our Boston Terrier has no undergrowth of fuzz. Glad to see Schultz smiling!

Judy, what type of dog is on you avatar?

Phew! This didn't take long to come up! It was taken earlier this month on a warm day!

AHHH Schultz, what a fine dog you are. So light, so cool. Must feel wonderful. I'll agree with you Kay, cat hair doesn't bear talking about. I've casually concidered shaving mine. Knowing her, she'd grow it all bak in a hurry just to shed again.
How's your rain. Not flooded out, I do More...

WOW! Kate, you could almost knit another little dog out of that pile of fur. I say my cats aren't shedding, they're involved in a long-term 'defuristation' project. Friends say I have a strange sense of humor... Good Maen to You All!

Good Maen, everybody. Schultz looks very happy to be rid of that undercoat -- big old smile on his face.
Big Red, thanks for asking about my avatar. That was Patches a terrier mix and a clown who brightened any day with her high jinx -- she has her whole face stuck through a knot hole in the fence in that photo.

If I'd taken up felting 13 and 3/4 years ago when Schultz came into our lives, I could have had several blankets!

Kate - it is possible to spin dog hair - I've done it. I had a friend with a dog who looked similar to Schultz. Every time he was brushed after a bath, we saved his fur and I spun it into knitting yarn. It looked and felt gorgeous but whatever I made out of it always smelled of dog when it got wet! We spinners will have a go at anything hairy!

Sis Emma -- We're getting spotty showers and an infrequent brief downpour. She hit much stronger in the western Carolinas.
Judy -- I wondered where her face was!
Diane -- try soaking your sweater in Woolite for a couple of hours -- that might help with the doggy aroma.

Thanks Kay, Schultz does look happy to be rid of that excess. Glad it's outside and not all over the couch!

Aren't dogs just the best? I have a 9 year old red golden retriever who brightens everyone's life...even the postman's!

Hi Schultz! Hi hope the weather keeps warming up & there aren't to many nights of 3 or 4 degrees (C that is)!!

Hi Kate! Given Schultz sleeps inside at the foot of the main bed on an ecofleece dogbed with his own ecofleece blanket alongside (given this is probably his last winter with us) a heater on thermostat so the room never drops below a certain temp ... he won't be too worried either way!

Schultz has cloned a Mini Me!

Kate, isn't it wonderful you can provide those comforts for Schultz! They give us so much -- we could never out give them

Thanks Judy. Normally we just pile the blankets on ourselves but we're running the heater this year for Schultz.
