I thought it was a Ferris wheel!

I thought so, too, Joe! I wonder if it is really in the water, lot of green around the base. Certainly is a lovely picture.

I wondered if it would still work with all the reeds around the base?

If this is like other water wheels I have seen, it will actually sit in a separate channel next to the river. I don't know if they do it that way to control debris, or what the reasoning is behind it. Being on the train, my view was limited and short.

Wilodene, I am slow -- just now "getting it" that you were on the train. What a wonderful bunch of photos you took, through some fascinating country. This made a great puzzle too, very nice.

I reckon the wheel is in front of the reeds--a great shot from a train window--a clean window, a good lens, and a fast speed--attractive and fun
