Dino for the intriquing photo. It is obviously "string-bean kelp". It's really good with almonds and a light butter sauce!

I thought it was rope as well until you look closely then you can see that it is a plant, thanks Shar for the info

I have no idea what kind of kelp it is either. But looks very interesting and made for a nice puzzle thanks. Hope everyone is having a good day.

It is definitely a seaweed, not rope and not a land plant. I have no idea what it is but thought someone might be able to identify it.

As I put the puzzle together, I was just hoping it wasn't something icky - like the cat threw up on kid's new shoe laces! Glad it's just kelp. Made a good puzzle, would have been fun at any level.

Here I am, a year later, expecting someone to have solved just which seaweed it was. Hmmm...
