Good Morning everyone! I never saw an alpaca up this closely before. He's kind of cute.

Very cute. It looks like it is smiling.

Pretty face! We had some alpacas about 17yrs ago!

Up close and personal.
I bought a gorgeous alpaca jumper while in Peru and I don't think the alpaca smell will ever leave it.
 |  |
Alpacas always look so happy.

A jumper is a different item of clothing in different parts of the english speaking world. What is it for your alpaca jumper, Ann?
 |  |
What a cute little smile...makes me smile to look at him.
 |  |
Hello IslandBea - my 'jumper' is actually a zip up cardigan type and is rather large and very heavy.

Hey, it's a cute little bugger! My son's ex in-laws had a llama ranch up in Oregon. He wasn't to amused by them (liked to spit and bite). Hope the alpaca has a better disposition.

Sharon, alpacas can be a little aloof, but when they know you, not so much. If threatened by a wild dog they will gang up & chase it off. Sometimes a neutered male is put out with sheep to help protect them. But a friend's alpacas were attacked by a number of dogs & a couple of them (alpacas) were killed & another injured.

Sharon, the same thing with son's ex in-laws. The alpaca (that was allowed inside) would spit, bite and jump on you and no reprimand. Cute in a paddock..... 20 Dec 07
