Lovely photo, especially the fluffy little clouds.
We drove across the Nullabor Plain in 1972 when there was still a few hundred miles of rough gravel road. A great experience, especially with a 3yo & a 14mth old toddler.

I thought he was up north/east (Queensland way) but it's a hundred years since I've seen one of those books so maybe he was from the west.

BTW a little trivia for you: Despite how it rolls off the tongue 'Nullarbor' isn't an Aboriginal word, its Latin ... for 'no trees'

Thanks, Kate, for that information. I didn't know that. Yes, Diane, some of Arthur Upfield's books where set in that sort of territory, anywhere in the outback - Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia and NSW. Recently there was a TV programme about one of his books called "The Sands of Windee" and it was set in the north of South Australia and Adelaide.
