Is it me or does it look more dead than dangerous? Did you see it up and moving, Wendy?

Even large-brained mammals sometimes fall for the crocodile's hide-motionless-in-the-open strategy. They can hold perfectly still for days at a time, but step into the 'hit zone' near their heads, and they move quicker than a human can see - or dodge. SNAP!

This Aussie croc has a much larger head and narrower jaw than the American Crocodiles I have seen. Also, its abdomen looks nearly bloated, perhaps it has just finished eating some unsuspecting creature?
My experience with alligators - captive ones are skinny and wild ones are trim - makes me think that this animal's habitat must provide it plenty of food.

OMG I wrote that wrong!
Captive alligators are often so fat they have flab on their legs, bloated tails, pouches near mouth, etc.

Wild alligators are usually quite trim, and I cannot recall seeing any in the wild as fat as EVERY alligator in captivity. We humans just can't accept they only eat once or twice a month, on average, and feed them daily or weekly.
