Hi Judy, depending on which part of our contry you live in. The water is warm in my area.

I could sit and look at the water all day, maybe a sip of cold white wine now and then.

Thanks for your comments about the photo. The water can be a bit cool as Albany is on the Southern Ocean, but it also depends on where you swim and how deep the water is. I'm afraid that I'm not a swimmer and only use the beach to walk on.

No Anne, you're obviously not a swimmer, the water as Portia said is freezing to frozen all the year round!!I like your photos, we have been holidaying in Albany for the last 40 odd years, summer and winter.

That's where I learned to swim in the 50's, Middleton Beach, the water was so cold it made my ears ache!!When I went to boarding school in Perth, we swam in the Swan River.Full of jellyfish of all shapes and colours, but oh the water was a sublime temperature.

No I don't 'write for a living' just letters to friends like you! I hope it's not too sweltering in Derby. I had a boarding school friend from Derby. Sadly we have not met for many years.
