Another of mine. Is it a sign of age that I'm drawn to all the old fashioned flowers that were in my mother's garden?

Possibly! But what a lovely memory! I recall wild flowers, white violets, ferns (from the West Coast)...

I have these in my yard, taken from my mom's garden before she passed away. They too are dear to my heart. Thanks Bev.

My mom loved sweet peas. I've tried and tried but have never been able to grow them with the success she had. Strangely enough, the blooms of the soy bean are quite similar. This is a lovely picture, Bev. They show up so well against the fence.

Beautiful--I don't think I've ever seen these or heard them--are they grown in Oz?

Never heard of it but I love it.
Thanks Bev.

I don't think I ever saw them when I lived in Oz so I think they must be North American. They went out of favour for a long time, and then horticulturists decided the originals weren't good enough so they came out with deep blues, purples and even black. I was so pleased when the original version appeared back on the market. They are a perennial shrubby sort of plant.

Just beautiful, my grandmother also loved sweetpeas, I grew some in Maine but I think it is too hot here in Florida to grow them. Maybe in the winter, I'll have to try.
