He's ready to ride.

My son will kill me for this but that's his photo on there. I did tell him once I had put it on and he wasn't very pleased because of the way he was dressed but he had a few hundred miles to travel. He's just a bike enthusiast and is on his Triumph 950. He's always owned a motor bike and also has a More...

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice; in practice, however, there is !

After working in ER for many years, that is a sight I find deeply unsettling.Give up while you're ahead son and you'll never get better advice than that.
 |  |
Gerald, truer words were never spoken!
 |  |
Hooray for this motorcyclist!! He's dressed for the slide, not the ride. If he has an accident, he's prepared. Smart guy!
 |  |
Thank you, ntd!
 |  |
Great photo.

Tell that to the Shenton Park Rehab. inpatients.I repeat, don't be a fool, there's no going back.

give up Norah, it's like telling people who smoke to give up, or drug addicts not to drive. It will never happen to them will it?Unfortunately for some of us they involve us.It's the ostrich (head in the sand)
syndrome.
 |  |
Norah, as gerald might say,
some people have a black belt in stupidity
and having been an IC worker I'm sure you know quite a lot more than Anne and ntd about the often horrendous consequences.God bless you.
 |  |
ditto
 |  |
Thank you Bill, but we shouldn't just 'give up' and NOT Gerald, thank you for your support.I didn't want to turn this into WW111, however it is extremely important for people not to kid themselves that they are participating in a very dangerous activity, which unfortunately, often affects others, on the road and off, family and strangers alike.
 |  |
double ditto and good afternoon and adios.
 |  |
You know Norah, Gerald, and Bill, there are idiots in cars that create hazardous situations for others, too. Ever drive on a two lane dual highway driving at the legal limit and have everyone leave you in the dust?? And watch them as they dart in and out of traffic as they are speeding down the More...
 |  |
Have any of you ever crossed a road?
 |  |
I have to agree with all of you who are against the motorcycles...extremely dangerous.
 |  |
this was easy
 |  |
Might as well ask the footballers to stay off the field too, Norah. I've nursed plenty of them, too! Driving cars is dangerous too! What about mountain climbers, going to the moon.............lots of horrific injuries & deaths in lots of different areas of life!
 |  |
Great photo Anne! Love Aaron's ten speed! (Wink) Time for a real road hog Aaron! (Biggrin) Go for it, and drive safely, as most bikers do (opposed to car drivers who feel they are in a protected shell)!
 |  |
Fotballers with horrific injuries, compared with motorcycle injuries??? if it wasn't so serious a subject, that would be ROFL.

 |  |
;) norah old girl, :) you're only allowed to comment on what a lovely photo,;) :) no reality here, thank you very much.:)

I traveled over 15 miles each way for 16 weeks, to visit my son in ER. When he was hit by a drunk driver. He was comming home from church in the morning and the drunk made a left hand turn in the middle of the block. My son was under a Honda Civic. Needless to say the cops booked the for manslauther. Lucky Charles made it.
 |  |
Well, what a lot of different comments. It sounds like the only time there are horrendeous accidents is when one rides a motorbike. As Kate and a few others have said, there are many accidents in sports, and terrible life threatening ones at that.
My son, Aaron, Greg mentioned his name, is a More...
 |  |
I should point out that the last comment doesn't include my son, he works on mine construction sites.
 |  |
Anne I'm sure you worry enough about him without everyone hellbent on damning his greatest passion. Most road accidents involve cars. You only have to look at the weekend. 3 generations wiped out in one hit with the driver of the truck walking away without a scratch on his body - not sure about his More...
 |  |
I would like to say that I believe Norah meant well. And I also agree that we all have a right to indulge in dangerous behavior, but there may be consequences. Ye olde philosophress.
 |  |
Nice picture.
 |  |
No not the only time, you silly sausage. But you are more likely to be injured on a motorbike than in a car. It's not rocket science. It's the degree of protection afforded in a car.Terrible life threatening accidents in sport????compared to motorbike accidents please. What a non sequiteur, no one is More...

From - I don't like talking to people who can't even use a proper name!
 |  |
sorry love, my name is not Neil but that will do.
Why don't you just say, I am not happy with my son riding a bike, especially after he hit a tree, but he's a big boy, I can't tell him what to do, I can only hope and pray he remains safe at all times, especially when he is on the road on his More...
 |  |
i was very badly hurt going to the moon Kate, think i landed on the fiddle or perhaps the spoon, or the cow or the little dog...much worse than spraining my ankle playing tiddly winks.

What happened to the cheerful folks who do puzzles and compliment each other? I sense hostility under the pleasant facade. I guess we are all humans-being, after all!
