And we can smell spring in the air at times here--jasmine and hyacinths--but I love those cold climate autumns--reminds me always of New England where I spent 2 'falls'--we get those colours here on exotics in some places but not the intensity of the reds--beautiful.

I just could not capture the spectacular effect of the changing maples against golden poplars and the dark green of the pines, so this leaf in change had to do.

Vici, I CAN wait for autumn, since we've had very little summer in Alberta.

It is so hot here, I wouldn't mind a touch of autumn right now. Autumn is my favourite season!

Theresa, You must be in eastern Small Town Canada because we have barely made it into double digits for several days. We even had a little more hail yesterday.

Yes Bev, actually I live in eastern Ontario. We have a humidex advisory in effect with temps feeling like 40. This has been going on for a few days and I'm starting to wilt.

Theresa, At least in the prairies, there is rarely a humidex advisory, but I wouldn't mind a little wilting right now. I've actually had the heat on for the past few days. I need a few warm dry days to fix my screens which were also damaged by hail.

I'm with you Canadians - I can wait. This has been a good summer in the midwest and I'm not looking forward to the winter. I love fall but it never lasts long enough.

If we could only pick and choose our weather. I don't mind heat, but it's the humidity that does a number on my arthritis. Sorry to hear about your problems, Bev. Mother Nature isn't always in a good mood.

What beautiful colors! Every season has its own special colors and I love them all, especially now that I'm retired and don't have to go out in nasty weather. Actually, I do have trouble with February. I'm tired of winter by then and spring is still a 'March' away...

Bev, a great way to show the changes.
