That was funny, Richard. I wish I had said that.

I never tire of nature shots. Beautiful turtle photo, Sue.

I love turtles most of the time. The exception is when they eat my geese.

He looks like he is purple, it must be the light, no doubt he's grey...
I get a few from the pond across the street - about 6 to 8 inches in width. They're cute and I'm always picking them up to return them to the pond before they get run over. (I like chocolate turtles too.. yum...)
Great photo Sue.

Good shot, Sue! A blue turtle or is it just the light? Richard, your little joke gave me a chuckle. Heidi, do turtles really eat geese -- because we have some Canada geese roaming the neighborhood... Well, a fake turtle might turn them away is all I mean...

I've watched a Snapping Turtle grab an adult goose swimming in my pond, then pull it under the water, never to be seen again. Snapping Turtles LOVE to eat geese and ducks.

Love the photos from these gardens - I shall google them and have a good look. Never heard of turtles eating geese and ducks. Heidi - how big are the turtles?

The biggest Snapper I've ever heard of had a shell 3 feet long. Combine that with a bad attitude and you've got a problem.

I'll second that Heidi but I really like turtles too. Would hate to see one take out a goose though.

I like most turtles. I have come close to having a finger bitten a few times as a child, when I would catch a snapping turtle on my fishing pole. This is another good photo, Sue.

About the photo of the tower in Italy on yesterday's medium, Peg posted a comment about it on that page for those who were interested.

I don't know of snapping turtles, but don't want to meet one! When I was little we had a 'penny turtle' which as the name implies was only and inch or two in diameter, and never bit me!!

So the moral is: Don't go wading in Kentucky. Or, if you do, don't quack!

Maybe we can get that AFLAC duck shipped to Ky and get rid of those annoying commercials. They show it so much they have my parrot Shadow saying "AFLAC" which really cracked us up the first time he did it.
