Ok - I give.

What IS this? My 9 year old and I puzzled over it for five minutes. We remain unilluminated.

Looks like someone praying before a burning altar? Or perhaps making a burnt offering?

No, this is actually a place where one can be "beamed up" to the mother ship. The antlers as they point upwards are to be grasped...

As a retired English teacher, I suggest punctuation. Is this photo #7383 and there were not 12 means of escape? Or were there originally thought to be 7383 means of escape but in reality only 12?

Second thought: My son-in-law hunts deer. This could be an altar where hunters pray for the "Really Big Buck"!

I'm almost certain that this is part of the Sculpture by the Sea exhibition. It would likely be exhibit #12. From my artist's point of view, I would interpret the bowl/twigs to represent a boat, and the entire sculpture to represent a person's consciousness escaping from reality. And I could be tee-totally wrong!
