A lovely, peaceful, slightly eerie scene. I like it very much!

Don't let looks deceive you. That mountain in the background is a time bomb waiting to go off! (Vesuvius)

A lovely photo, indeed - makes me want to go there and see this scene for myself (one cannot assume the time bomb will go off when one is there, now can one!). Yes, Vesuvius is a danger, as has been shown in its well-preserved history/archeology, but there is much beauty there to be seen!

Good golly, I read that about 3,000,000 people live near this volcano which is why it is considered one of the most dangerous. We never learn.
Ah, but such a glorious setting!

Kate and I with our family have sailed out of this harbour many years ago on an Italian Ocean Liner, the "Marconi".

Delighted that another of my photos has made it!! This was taken from the deck of the QEII. The night just seemed to descend around us as I took the picture. The little tug-boat was guiding the ship out of the harbour.

Beautiful shot, Rose! I wondered whether it was dawn or twilight until I read your explanation. The slightly mysterious mood and the nearly-dark time of day are putting my imagination into overdrive. This could be the opening shot of a suspenseful movie!
