I hope that pilot knows what he is doing!

I'm sure he does or he wouldn't be an air racer!

Tried to get a room in Perth a couple of days before this race once. I think Adelaide was closest. Never seen so many people.

Oh! This photo startled me at first. It is so reminiscent of the first plane that flew into the World Trade Center twin towers in NYC a few years ago. I was watching that live on TV and it really was traumatic.

We were in Perth some years ago in a hotel overlooking Langly Park and all the old planes were there.Great photo.

I thought for a horrible minute that this might be a photo of the twin towers attack. So relieved it isn't. We went to an airshow in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, once. It was SO COOL and I don't mean the weather. We saw antique, WWII, stunt, model, and home-built planes fly. I think the 'smoke trail' is artificially produced to enhance the action. Do you have something like this in AU?

Yes we have air shows but I've never been to one-I imagine they're similar to your description--occasionally they'll be some reference to WWII or stunt RAAF teams in the news.
I did this puzzle after the hard one today and the pieces seemed SO big and putting it together SO easy after the robin picture.

Hubby and I were hoping to go to this last year. We were going to be put up at Rolanda's! But it really is so expensive to fly within Australia, especially at that time.
BTW Those pilots are mad, they have to be to do what they do!
Who's photo is this?
