What a beautiful creature (s)he is! Something about the eyes makes her/him look either seductive or blissful -- I can't decide! Great photo, I wonder who snapped it?

Kind of reminds me of Imogene Coca! Does anybody remember her?

Yes, Shar! I agree, there's an Imogene Coca look about the giraffe. Good call!

Giraffes have ALWAYS been my favorite wild animal...the way they run, their beautiful hides, soulful eyes, and gentle demeanor. I remember petting a baby giraffe in the Atlanta zoo, many years ago. Thanks for the wonderful picture.

I used to care for the giraffes when I worked in the zoo. Wonderful creatures... so beautiful and gentle. There was one female -Lady- who adored Twinkies! Every morning I would bring her one. She would lean over me and drool all over my head until I fed it to her. I wore a hat.

A lovely close up photo. Was it taken at a zoo or in the wild?

when our son was 3, we took him to the zoo and when he saw the giraffe, he said "look at that big ole possum". Everyone around us was laughing but I got a book on animals and taught him...quick!

If, as I was once told, God made the giraffe from leftover parts, He did his usual superlative job! And the photographer here excelled as well.

Whereizzy, great story -- I am sure you could have died! Kay said everything I had to say about this beguiling creature. Thanks to whoever got the shot!
