Lovely photo Kate. It reminded me of the wonderful Jacaranda that was in my yard in Sydney. At the time I took it for granted and never took a picture of it. I returned many years later to find that, in the name of "progress", all the nice brick houses and every tree on the street had More...

Stunning--like you Shells I've not looked at one flower so closely--I tend to look at the effect of a whole street of jacarandas in bloom at the same time--in November I'll look more closely thanks Kate.

Bev, you only need to visit Adelaide, it is a very commonly used as a streetscape tree. They are everywhere.
Thinking about what you say about not going back, Only one of the schools I attended still exists, and I went to many as Dad worked with a government department and we went where they told him. In fact, the town where I was born is practically a ghost town!

Gail, I have had the same experience as you did, as Dad was in the RAAF and we moved I don't know how many times. I went to nine different schools in three countries and three Australian states plus ACT. Most of the houses we lived are not there any more. Same with the schools.
