I have seen a few of these growing. This one looks fairly compact but I have see a lot that look straggly. They do come in different colours.

I've had dahlia's I've grown in pots but have never heard of a dahlia tree. It's beautiful!

They do get very straggly and the canes can start falling over. Best way to keep them bushy is to prune them very hard or just remove completely & strike new canes. They grow very easily from cuttings. they can become a weed if not looked after properly!!
