Now THAT IS CHARMING, Peg. Good eye. Interesting band performing in the street. Now can someone define "busker" for me?

I like it to Heidi. A busker is a street entertainer.

It is a great photo - looks a simple scene until the level of detail grows on you.

I've learned another new word today! Both of my children are professional teachers/musicians and I'd never heard the term "buskers" that I remember. Maybe it's because they don't play on the street.

They're often in groups of at least two, but usually 3 or 4, occasionally only one. They play very well. And it's a wonderful way to practise!

That would make a fine painting. I wonder what sort of music they were playing -- they don't look very merry. Busker is a good word, isn't it! By the way, Cheryl, did you see the queen?

The only place that I've seen kids playing on the street for money (and many of them dancing too) is in the French Quarter of New Orleans (plenty of adults, too). I've seen adults playing in many places -- New York City, Philadelphia, etc. -- even a guitar player/singer now and then in our small More...
