all. Kate, this is a beautiful Cockatoo, and a fine photo. I fell in love with one of these creatures once, and I think the feeling was mutual. Alas, his current owner wouldn't entertain thoughts of selling him.

They live for 100 years Kay so just wait for the owner to die. Wish I could send you a few that visit my yard. Took a photo of one the other day eaing a biscuit (cookie) and sitting in the jacaranda tree (which is in flower.)

I agree they are beautiful and so intelligent but they can be naughty as well. Here the big problem is that they chew the clips holding the oovers to the street lights so the covers are often falling down. We always had pet ones growing up, teaching them to talk and do tricks was great

Sounds like a very beautiful photo, June! That's a wild one - just visiting Dubbo Zoo (out on the Western Planes of NSW) like I was!! We get them flying around here too, some times dozens of them, but usually in small groups of 4 to 6!
