One crazy horse alright, crazy rider too.

Crazy Horse was a warrior fighting for his people's land that the foreingers were stealing. It is just history repeating itself.

Agree with you, Big Red. The powerful don't learn and don't get it.

Crazy Horse was my favorite Souix Chief to read about, I have probably read at least 7 biographys in my lifetime about him.

Good mAen!

Great picture. I have a lot of respect for men like Crazy Horse. A great general and stategist who was fighting to protect his people, his land and his rights to live feely. He knew when to give up so his people wouldn't be slaughtered, and was killed while in shackles as repayment.

Hooray. Its not a moggy.
Its a horsey. My respects to the chief.

This is the one that is being carved out of the mountain isn't it? I remember my sister went there about 9 years ago. This looks very much like the statue that is the prototype for the carving.

Thanks Greg for giving us some information on the carving. I didn't realise the importance of it so I can look at it in an entirely different light now. It just goes to show our ignorance of one another's countries and history. Now I know why I want to keep travelling and see more of the world.

This was one of the many places I visited when travelling the US 2 years ago. The size and scale of the work is phenominal! I hope that it will get as much respect as Rushmore up the road when it's completed, if not, more!
