While in Amsterdam we visited the Anne Frank Museum, she lived in a house similar to these. If you are ever in Amsterdam it is well worth a visit.
Many of the canal houses tilt one way or another, some quite dramatically, because of subsidence. It gives a quaint, rustic appearance to what is an old and interesting city.
