Well, Ian, that was delightfully challenging! Think I need a cup of tea now. Interesting photo - are gumnuts used by people or animals? I think I need a book on the flora of Australia!

Ian for the photo. I'm just guessing here but does a gummet grow on a wattle? Anyway it was a fun puzzle to do, I couldn't wait to see what a gummet looked like!

A gum nut is the seedpod of eucalyptus trees. They come in a variety of sizes.
It made a challenging Puzzles Ian...as you intended.

I've seen things similar to this in our dried flower section of craft shops and never knew what they were and neither did anyone else. I'll have to look closer next time I go.

Just back from four delightful days at Soldiers Point Holiday Park in the motorhome.. Arrived home to 42º C temperature.

As June said, they are the seed pods of the eucalyptus tree (also known as the gum tree).
