Sorry to disappoint you Vici but we had lunch in the pub behind me - a cold beer to wash down some great fish & chips. I was fascinated by the tree. The photo was taken at Queenscliff in Victoria while we were waiting for the ferry to take us over to Sorrento.

I have no idea June, I presume the local Council - and I can only presume that they had a good reason (?).

It really is a bizarre looking tree - makes an intriguing composition! I am rather surprised the poor thing still makes an effort to produce/maintain the topmost branches.
