Brrrr. Do you know how fast the glacier is receding, Sue?

Magnificent photo. It's hard to believe that ice can be so colorful, so massive and act as if it were alive. Photos have a hard time showing the scale of a glacier without a size reference.

The ice melts a little each summer and then freezes back up in the winter. The only difference is that now we can go there and see it and predict a doomed future for our decendants.

Magnificent view, but too cold for me! I'm quite content to sit back and let you show it to me, Sue.

It's hard to imagine that humans can destroy glaciers, but that's just what we're doing. This rate of melting far exceeds anything Mother Nature would do. Shar has it right.

Thanks Shar and Heidi for saying it. It might be negative but it is true.

Great photo Sue! Did you get to see any pieces falling off the glacier? We heard it happen in Antarctica, but never saw it.

Amen, Shar and Heidi. It breaks my heart to see what's happening around us because of us -- particularly because of the ignorant and the greedy, neither of whom have any concern about future generations.

No icebergs here, but hail and cold wind. I'm staying home.

Great photo. Made me get out and check my photos taken in that area about 11 years ago!
