It's amazing how the eye picks up on the slight changes in the color of the blue. It went together very easily, I thought.

Does the statue pertain to a specific war, or to war in general? It's very meaningful to me, though I don't even know where it is! War is war. The puzzle was a little tricky - par for the course with Ian!

Kay, I don't know the answer to your question, but I would guess that it was erected to commemorate those who died in WW I. But as with all these memorials, its use has been extended to become a memorial to those who gave their lives in all wars. It was unusual as memorials go, and I think it More...

Joann, yes we loved it. We visited Dubbo where Maureen very kindly took time off to show us around, then to Parkes to look at the 'big umbrella' and on to stay the night at Forbes. Ian, your trip sounds very nice. We used to spend a goodly amount of time relighting the pilot for the water tank and the furnace -- no fun in cold weather. Of course the wind blows in Oklahoma a great deal of the time -- we get our money's worth out of windchimes!
