What a beautiful animal, but I can only think of how much better it would be it this feline was running free.

My favorite big cat, a cheetah! They are such magnificent beasts, strong and streamlined. Greg, I, too, very strongly believe that wild creatures should be left to roam free. What a pity to see them fenced in and/or caged.

This one was very tame. It's handler [at Perth Zoo] was giving it a belly rub,it was purring like a very contented cat. It was then hand feed. I agrree wild animals should roam free but many are under threat. There are many whom would never in they wildest dream ever see a cheetah in it's natural More...

I was just thinking if only that animal was as sweet as its face, and then I read (eaa)how tame it was. I will let the handler do the feeding, though, and I will just admire it.

eaa, I agree that were it not for zoos and animal habitats, most of us would never have seen close up many of the exotic animals, including myself. I would love to have the opportunity to interact with this beautiful cat. But, it still saddens me to see them confined -- I can't help those feelings. This is a great photo, and I'm glad that you were there and are sharing it with us.

Wonderful photo eaa. I love cats, especially the big cats. That expression on his face says to me : I really don't appreciate you waking me up.

I love all the cats as well, hmmm I love all the animals I guess and freedom is the most wonderful. I was looking at Vici's page the other day with the story of Christian and went off to UTube to watch the set... absolutely beautiful and moving story and at the same time so sad for his parents.

That's a very beautiful LITTLE kitty, eaa!! The other about today's zoos (the better one's that is) is that they have breeding programs for endangered species & try to get animals back into there own environments.

Just heard on the news. The world will loss a quarter of it native mammals due to loss of their native habitat. Is it evolution or is it due to 'man'? Either way it's very sad.

I hear all the time about deer invading local people's yards and eating their shrubs and flowers. I beg to differ. I say that people have invaded the deer's (and many others') habitat, forcing what they are calling deer More...
