It was built to get from one side ot the mountain to the other. lol

It was used for passenger trains for 95 years until a storm knocked out the tracks. It is now part of the Mid State Hicking Trail System.

Pata, I remember driving through PA back in '64 going from the east to Pittsburgh and it seemed like there were lots of tunnels right through the Allegheny Mountains. I was awed by all the beauty because we don't have mountains like that on Cape Cod of course and that was my first trip west.

Doesn't look too long--or spooky to me 'cos I can see the end clear as a bell--no ghost train's going to run me over
