What were the circumstances when this picture was taking? Who took the picture, and where? It's so fantastic it's almost unbelievable.

How'd dey do dat?? Is that for real?? It is so beautiful! Should have been on for St Pat's Day and we could search for the Pot O' Gold!

The last time I saw a rainbow was from my office building where I'm on the 19th floor. I could almost see the complete circle, just a small arc of the circle was missing where it met the ground. I had heard that it was possible to see the complete circle but that was a first for me.

That doesn't look like a rainbow to me. Rainbows are usually part of a perfect circle and this one looks like it has been distorted - fisheye lens perhaps?

Great photo would make an interesting hard

Looks textured, like a piece of rope. Anyway, whoever did it's got us all speculating!!

That is a magnificent picture. Kudos to the photograper and many thanks for sharing it.

Was this digitally produced? Interesting picture if it was captured live.

I agree with Ian--this is not the shape of a real rainbow.

I did see a rainbow full circle from a plane over Miami around sunrise.

WOW! Has a fairy tale quality to it. One could daydream a story staring at it.
 |  |
I think it was a postcard shape that has been 'squashed' into a square.
 |  |
cool
 |  |
Interesting effect-but agree with Ian, some distortion has been applied

Yep, space aliens again. Jan.30.08.

I could duplicate the effects of this image by starting with a normal photo and inserting a "flare" in Adobe Photoshop software application. I believe that this is probably how this "rainbow" was achieved. 4/7/08
