Interesting photo, Kate. More traffic than I like, though. Good Maen, everyone.

Kate, are the parking stalls in the center of the moving lanes? Interesting.

Big Red, yup to me too, looks like there are two lanes going right and two going left and the boulevard... is the parking - good use of all the space. Interesting Kate.

Interesting city picture. Having cars parked in the middle probably cuts down on head-on accidents and gives pedestrians a safe place to wait when crossing the street.???

Never thought about the parking being different to other places. In Melbourne CBD (central business district - known as the Golden Mile), all the streets that don't have trams running down the centre, have parking instead. The lovely wide streets were part of the planning long before vehicular traffic.

Very interesting, Elizabeth. I need to do more learning about Australian history. What little I know is fascinating and I'm learning more here every day.

Well, I nevah, Miss Scarlett! How does one merge back onto the boulevard? I know, "very carefully!"

I pity new drivers learning to dodge traffic while trying to park or leave. Or does Australia have less traffic than US cities?

Heidi, Australia has many large cities with populations in the millions. I expect their traffic is as hair-raising as ours. Melbourne is second largest with well over 3 million! Here's a link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cities_in_Australia_by_population
