Hey! One of mine
These little guys rarely make a daytime appearance, even in captivity. I'm told they are nearly as plentiful as gray squirrels but their nocturnal and treetop-staying habits make them a rare sight. I have never seen one in the wild in a lifetime of lookin at critters.

I once raised two baby flying squirrels when I had a tree removed (next to the house and full of carpenter ants!) and the mom did not come back to retrieve her babies. The little male was trying to mount his sister before they were even weaned! We saved the log with their hole but cut and hinged More...

We have lots of squirrels here on our oak and beech trees, but I've never seen this type. What big eyes! Thanks, Jim!

What a cute little guy! We have lots of squirels around(some of them actually want my cornbread)but I've never seen one like this. Maybe why the cat wants to be out after dark????

The only time i see them here is when one of the dogs catches one and brings it in the house.
