As soon as I saw this, I Googled and ordered some. I'd never heard of them before, and I found many varieties and colors available. Thank you, Kate, for adding more beauty to my garden!

Gail, you say they like the shade? That is almost all I have -- I bet they'd mix well with my hostas. I assume they are perennials?

Yes Judy, shade loving perennials. They tend to look a bit 'flat' at some stage through the year (can't remember when!), but bounce back each year, Mine are in flower at the moment, so from mid-winter to early spring.
I have never done anything to mine!

I have a very shady spot under some longleaf pine trees that will be the perfect place. I ordered the "Helleborus Brandywine" which is a mixture of all colors, and varied types of blooms. I can't wait to see them when they bloom!

Thanks, Gail. It's one of my twin granddaughters, Abigail. She has her hair pulled back in a ponytail, making her look like a little boy here.
