I'd really like to eat properly if you'd only take the tube out!

That looks like a pharyngostomy tube! I've struggled with poor cats many a time trying to feed them through one of those - if only tey could understand we're there to help! Hoep this one made a full recovery.

About two days after I took this photo Calypso solved the problem by coughing up the tube and biting the end so short that by the following morning it had come out of the hole in her neck, which neatly sealed itself up. All I had to do was snip one stitch. She now weighs 6.5 kg and is roughly the shape of a fuzzy blimp!

Glad to hear she is doing so well. It is often the fate of these tubes to be chewed by unappreciative patients!
