Beautiful scene Dino. I'm trying to distract my thoughts because my pet parrot Shadow (only 8 yrs. old) suddenly passed away this am. He showed no signs of being ill, he just skawked and fell off his perch spasmed a little and then went still in my hands. I'm devastated.

When my husband came home we tearfully buried Shadow in the flower bed under his window. It's amazing how attached one gets to their pets but this little guy was so special be cause he talked to us. Thankyou Dino, Candace, TerrierCyn and Kay for your words of support, it really does help.

Oh Shar - there is nothing worse than losing a great pet. I know it's sad just now but one day you'll see a photo of him and you'll be able to smile. I sat on my back step every night for 6 months beside my cat's grave when I got home from work. Some days I cried, other days I talked to him and More...

Wonderful photo Dino.

Shar, terrible news about Shadow. They really do become part of our lives. My sympathies to you both.
I was outside today raking the leaves and kept expecting my old ginger cat to come and keep me company. He left us on Monday. I miss him.

A pet that's in your heart will never leave you.
My thoughts are with you Shar, and you Gail. It's 18 years since Holly (my cocker) left, but she's always with me - as are all my loved ones - boy is it getting crowded!

Thank you Eileen.
You put a smile on my face, I know exactly what you mean about getting crowded. Hubby and I tried to count the number of cats we have had and it would have to be up in the thirties! I'm starting to know why I am known as the 'Mad Cat Woman'!
Down to four now, AND NO MORE!
(That's what you said last time-Hubby)

Add to that the loss of family members, childhood pets, pets you've maybe looked after for a neighbour, friends - you are never alone. The trick is to concentrate on the good times, take something positive from them.
The greatest honour (I think) to the memory of a pet is to get another - it More...
