"Red sky in the morning, sailors take warning. Red sky at night, sailors delight." Glad to see this was a sunset! Beautiful.

The version I learned was 'red in the morning, shepherd's warning, red at night shepherd's delight'. I think I learned it from my parents and as one was Welsh and the other English it's probably from the UK somewhere.

Ceri - that's the exact version I was taught by my parents and we were from England.

My dad's family came from Ireland originally, and he also used the shepherd's version.
Glorious photo!!!
I've now seen the sun set over the ocean a few times, California, Great Aussie Bight, Gulf of Carpentaria, but it always feels like it should be sunrise. Will make it over to West Aussie one day to see this!! Maybe 2012.
