Boy! Brings back memories. Walked the tracks many a time as a child, balanced on the rails, always irked me that the cross ties were not a full stride apart.

This brings to mind the last verse of one of Edna St. Vincent Millay's poems:
"My heart is warm with the friends I make,
And better friends I'll not be knowing,
Yet there isn't a train I wouldn't take,
No matter where it's going."

Great photo, Sue! Quite a bit of that white stuff in NSW at the moment. There was a photo take from the air of a bunch of kangaroos hopping through the snow near Orange on the TV last night! When my husband left for work on his bicycle at 6.30am this morning it was only 6*C (43*F).

I just looked up the weather Kate (northern NSW) and Tenterfield had -6 overnight... no wonder I'm freezing to death where I am outside Casino!

The railway tracks with snow is a great shot I love the perspective... but gee whiz when it's coooold and looking at all the cold/snow photos really makes me shiver!!

I'm sure it looked good to Sue since we are in the 90's here in Oklahoma. That's a really great shot, Sue!

RR tracks. They must be the same the world over. We're about 85 with humidity about there, too. But after the never-ending winter we had, I'm not complaining too loudly!
