Pretty flower - Hello Hether and everyone on puzzles, no, I didn't sleep in, far from it. That's why I had an early night last night and was awake at 4:30 again this morning. I'll have to have a grannie nap this arvo so I can do the puzzles tonight as usual.

They're called colombines or granny's bonnets down here & come in lots of other colours as well as blue. Their proper name is 'Aquelegia vulgaris', they belong to the family 'Ranunculaceae' & they originaly came from Europe. 14th Feb'07

From www.50states.com: The white and lavender Columbine, Aquilegia caerules, was adopted as the official state flower on April 4, 1899 by an act of the General Assembly.
